UCF Board Chairman Chance Kabaghe said this is in an effort to foster development at the urea plantation in Lusaka which is expected to produce 100, 000 and 800, 000 metric tons of urea in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Speaking at the bond issuance ceremony in Gaborone Botswana, Mr Kabaghe said the company will continue making an impact in ensuring that Africa is food secure.
He said it is time for Africa to sustain itself and stop importing food from outside the continent.
Mr. Kabaghe also noted that the continent should also embark on tripling the Intra African Agricultural Trade by 2025 as this is the only way that Africa can sustain its population with adequate food supply.
And Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) Chief Executive Officer Tapilo Teule, said the US$500 million listed on the stock exchange is a testimony that the BSE is recognised in the region.
Teule said BSE has increasingly received listings from different companies recently.
