SAFADA Executive Director Boyd Moobwe notes that farmers have over the years had challenges to access information on how best they can increase production as there are few extension officers.
Mr. Moobwe says it is important for government and other stakeholders to come on board in bridging the knowledge gap in the agriculture sector by promoting smart agriculture.
He says this will help farmers desist from relying on chemicals to increase production and begin practicing smart agriculture skills going forward.
Mr. Moobwe has further urged government to increase extension officers in order for farmers to be able to access information easily.
