In an interview, Mr. Chibomba said Government should put in place policies that are going to attract tourists as the sector has the ability to be one of the major foreign export earners for the country.
He said it is prudent that the country develops policies that drive towards promoting tourist attraction which will be cardinal for the growth of the sector.
He added that the ministry needs to identify gaps in the sector and cement them as this will be critical for the revenue generation.
Mr Chibomba said the country has not widely promoted the tourism sector which has negatively affected its growth thereby denying the treasury the much-needed revenue.
He said it is vital to ensure that the sector is promoted globally as this will unlock its potential.
