THE Zambia Air Force ZAF says outdoor operations are key to fueling economic activities through enhanced security.

ZAF Commander, Lt Gen Colin Barry said outdoor operations are critical in enhancing the Air Force’s strategic capabilities and operational readiness.
Commander Barry was speaking in a statement issued by the ZAF Public Relations representative, Maj Misheck Kalembwa after surprising the ZAF No. 15 Air Defence Unit on an outdoor operation led by Air Officer Commanding, Brig Gen Mukuka Mwansa in Kasama, Northern Province.
Commander Barry hailed the Air Force’s commitment to conducting exercises in diverse and realistic environments such the Northern Province.
Commander Barry said he was honoured to witness the incredible dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the Air Force personnel during outdoor operation in Kasama.
He said outdoor operations were not only about defense but also played a crucial role to training, readiness, and strategic capabilities, enabling the force to effectively respond to a wide range of challenges
Gen Barry said outdoor operations also contribute to national security objectives including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief by responding swiftly in times of crisis.
“Outdoor operations are the cornerstone of our preparedness. It is here, in the field, that we validate our training, test our equipment, and hone the skills necessary to face the diverse challenges that may arise,” Commander Barry said.
