Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba says Zambia has recorded 123, 406 domestic tourists’ arrivals from heritage sites, national parks and museums in the last one, representing a 44 percent increment in tourist arrivals.

In a speech read by his Permanent Secretary Evans Muhanga at the launch of the Zambia Tourism Agency 2023 domestic tourism campaign dubbed; “Take a holiday yamu loko,” Mr Sikumba said Government recognised the importance of domestic tourism for economic growth, hence their commitment to increase domestic travels.
Mr Sikumba said local tourists provided consistent revenue collection for local businesses, hence Government’s commitment to work with all sector players.
And ZTA Director in charge of Marketing Chavunga Lungu said the agency would heighten interaction with sector players to give domestic tourism the importance it deserves.
