PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is looking forward to see to it that the Memorandum of Understandings with official creditors and private creditors are concluded.

President Hichilema has stressed that once the processes are done, it will help to unlock the countriy’s economic opportunities.
Mr Hichilema admitted that the processes with the creditors are not yet done, hence the need to ensure that they are concluded as soon as possible.
He was speaking when the French delegation led by Minister of Development Chrysoula Zacharopoulou paid a courtesy call him at State House yesterday,
Mr Hichilema has since appealed to the French government to continue working with the Zambian government so that the matter can be put to bed.
President Hichilema said “We need to fully sign the MOUs with the official creditors, one or two that are outstanding.”
He said there is need to work hard to conclude the remaining issues with official creditors that have not yet signed agreements with Zambia.
And President Hichilema said the comparability treatment with the private creditors which is under the G20 is another issue which need to be addressed.
He said the official creditors committee will soon call for a meeting and he hopes that the gap can be closed as quickly as possible.
