GOVERNMENT has pledged to continue supporting the manufacturing industry through viable policies.

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga, said the role of government is to support the manufacturing industry by providing a conducive business environment.
He was speaking at the start of the 37th annual general meeting for Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM),
Mr. Mulenga said the players need to conduct business in a legal, smart and ethical manner in order to attract more partnership and foreign multinational joint ventures.
He also advised manufacturers to continue providing laws and policies that will spur businesses as they are agents of job creation in the country.
And the re-elected ZAM President of (ZAM) Ashu Sagar said the industry will continue building a strong partnership with the government.
He said this will be critical to the growth of the industry.
Mr. Sagar explained that the ability to understand each other in areas that are supposed to be improved to bring development in the manufacturing sector is a key component discussion within the partnership boundaries.
