Mr. Zulu said in an interview that hydropower production is concentrated in the southern part of the country hence the need to utilise other water bodies.
Mr. Zulu said there is need to conduct a research using indigenous Zambian experts with little or minimal foreign expertise to avoid foreign influence to update the country’s database of potential rivers, topography, and inflow of catchment areas in the northern part of the country.
He said investing in construction of dams in the northern part of the country could be a game changer for the energy sector.
Mr. Zulu explained that utilising other water bodies in electricity generation will increase access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy sources.
