ZAM Vice President, Chipego Zulu, said the reluctance by government to do business with the private sector is not conducive for the growth of the sector.
Ms. Zulu said government is on record of wanting to work with the private sector to support economic growth and create sustainable jobs as well as resilient economy.
Ms. Zulu said the manufacturing sector has been able to identify suppliers that are able to supply genuine goods and services that government needs and the only thing left is for government to issue tenders for supply to such entities.
She said that it is important that government work hand in hand with private sector through giving tenders of supply of various goods and services to the private sector beyond politics.
She said it is a known fact that government is the biggest player in any economy and if they fail to support the private sector where business is concerned the economy is doomed to fail.
She said it is important that government put this into consideration is it will be beneficial to the growth of sector.
