President Hichilema says the new dawn administration is willing to work with investors who will go beyond the extraction of the country’s resources. The Head of State said this when he hosted a delegation comprising 14 different Swedish companies, led by Mr. Mikael Lindvall, the Swedish Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs, Africa Department, as part of the Swedish Ministerial business delegation.
“We invite Swedish companies to invest in Zambia, not only by extracting our resource endowment, but also by processing them in the country and working with the Zambian private sector to add value,” President Hichilema said.
He encouraged Swedish companies to explore various sectors of the Zambian economy and requested that country to provide government with information about their past endeavours worldwide to assess the suitability of their models for Zambia. The President also said Sweden’s reputation for excellent technology and solutions calls for Swedish companies to explore various sectors of the Zambian economy. President Hichilema expressed gratitude for the role played by Sweden towards Zambia’s debt restructuring talks urging the country to continue supporting Zambia towards achieving its economic transformation agenda.
