ZCCM IH Board Member Bishop John Mambo says there is need to stiffen laws that deal with illegal exploration of the Country’s mineral resources as most of it has just been benefiting foreigners at the expense of Zambians.

Bishop Maambo says most of the illegal Mine sites around the country are littered with foreign nationals who end up benefiting from the resources as Zambians are only involved at the primary source.
Bishop Mambo says legitimate entities such as Zambia Gold Company and ZCCM IH are the ones that should be capacitated to ensure that these resources benefit the country and not end up with foreigners who do not even pay taxes.
He says there is need to come up with mechanism that would make sure that foreigners that come invest in the Mines are partnered with Zambians so as to empower the locals to benefit from their own resource.
