Mr Bwalya who is popularly known as KBF, said Zambia needs to change the archaic economic laws in mining so that the local people could be involved in the mining sector and take control of the mine by reducing the dependency on foreigners.
He also said there was need to change the land laws and the banking laws so that Zambians could easily access funding through loans from the banks.
Mr Bwalya said there a lot of Zambians with Brilliant ideas in agriculture, manufacturing and in the arts but because of the old laws they have failed to access loans from banks because demand for certain things was only applicable in the colonial days.
He said the banking laws in the country must change to suit the local circumstances, saying people have presented business ideas to the banks but access is mostly denied because they do not possess certain things or collateral that the banks want as a prerequisite and the change can only happen if the laws are changed.
Mr Bwalya said there was also need to change immigration laws because some of the laws hinder foreigners who would want to bring foreign direct investment (FDI).
He said there was also need to change the laws that have to do with trade and commerce because the way things are, Zambians are scared of handling money.
Mr Bwalya said there was need to change the health insurance laws so that Zambians can easily access medicines to have a health citizenry.
Meanwhile Mr. Bwalya said policies on infrastructure are very weak in the UPND government and no country ever develops without proper infrastructure.
“People thought that the UPND was coming to change the narrative but unfortunately they started the old way of doing things, we can’t develop like this,” he said.
