Energy Minister Peter Kapala says he is aware of the critical role that the private sector plays in the energy sector, hence the need to collaborate with them in finding ways on how to cushion the consumers.
Mr. Kapala said government understood that the surge in fuel pump price although triggered by a lot of factors on the international market, has negatively affected the Zambian people.
He said with the introduction of blended fuel, which will be pumped in this month, gasoline would help mitigate the fuel pump price in the country.
He has since appealed to the private sector to come on board and work with government in order to mitigate the high fuel pump prices in the country.
