This is out of the 15,000 tonnes that Alpha Commodities Limited is supposed to distribute in the two provinces.
Alpha Commodities Limited Regional Manager for Northern and Muchinga Provinces Charles Chalo says his company has stocked enough inputs to supply farmers in the region.
Mr Chalo said his company had intensified the transportation of fertilizer from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in ensuring that all the stock is readily available.
Mr. Chalo said the early delivery was aimed at ensuring that farmers had access to farming inputs on time.
He said this was in line with the government’s agenda of recording a bumper harvest through early delivery of inputs to farmers.
And Northern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Lewis Mwape has hailed the private sector’s involvement in the supply of inputs in the province ahead of the 2023/2024 farming season.
Mr. Mwape said this would enable farmers to easily access inputs so that the region can contribute to the country’s food security.
