AFRICAN Rivers has embarked on a journey to fight against the aggression of unrelenting climate change events that are stressing rivers in the country, the continent and the entire planet earth.

African Rivers has marked an important milestone in the archives of the journey towards hosting the first-ever Zambezi River Indaba and Expo scheduled to take place in the tourist capital, Livingstone, from the March 25-28, 2024 under the theme; “Promoting River Restoration, Climate Adaption, Technology and Water Harvesting for Sustainable Development in Africa.”
Speaking at the launch, Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Collins Nzovu submits that, the main theme is underpinned by four sub-themes namely; Innovation, Opportunity, Green Economy and Sustainability, which are considered fundamental to the development trajectory of the Zambezi River Basin and are potentially effective in strengthening mitigation and building adaption capabilities against the adverse effects of climate change events.
Mr Nzobvu said the great journey of the mighty Zambezi River traverses six countries – Zambia, Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique coming at a time when the country is just seven years away from crossing the annual mark vision 2030.
