Kasonde Mwenda, the president of Economic Freedom Fighters on Thursday claimed that government had privatized Zesco’s construction department and that many workers had since lost their jobs.
Mr Mwenda claimed that Zesco had disbanded its construction department and sold it into private hands, a statement Mr Ncube said was false but alarming.
But Zesco board chairman Vickson Ncube has described as alarming the statement suggesting that the company had sold its construction department because no such a transaction had ever taken place between the utility company and any individual.
Mr Ncube explained that the sub hired jobs are only exclusive to Zambians only and were meant to compliment the construction department.
And according to Millennium Radio investigations, government has not sold its sole power utility company Zesco into private hands contrary to assertions by some section of society.
According to the Zambian Laws the disposal of State Assets has to be ratified by Parliament in accordance with the Public Finance Act number 1 of 2018.
According to Millennium Radio investigations, the construction department has not been sold but instead the utility company has out sourced private firms to compliment Human resource in the department.
The companies have been sub hired through open tendering procedures.
The department was facing a deficit of human resources which had for some time been causing delays in connections of electricity to property.
