Speaking when he featured on Millennium TV programme dubbed “Millennium Tonight,” Mr. Fube says it is shocking that the ministry has been quiet on the resources utilised.
“Zambians want to know how these funds were utilised. The Ministry of Agriculture need to know that these resources are public resources and it is the public’s right to know how they were used.
“I think the other thing that has also failed that has to do with some agriculture revolution is the farming bloks, farming bloks, which were allocated a US$300 million, borrowed money of course, of which up to now we have not been told how it has performed,” he says.
And Mr Fube says, the government should put in place a better mechanism to transition from the Farmer Input Support Programme to farming loans.
He says, rushing in implementing the new initiative will not yield good results.
“I hope that they have a better mechanism that they will implement because to me that sounds very capitalistic,” says Mr Fube.
