ZAMBIA’S 2022 Commonwealth Games Gold medalist Muzala Samukonga could not finish the 400-meter race in his second time appearance at the Silesia Diamond League which was held yesterday in Poland due to injury.

Samukonga, who won Gold at the Golden Spike championship in Czech Republic asked fans to remember him in prayers as he prepares to recover for the World Championships.
“Unfortunately, I could not finish the race due to injuries. Remember me in your prayers,” said the 400-meter sprinter after the race in Poland.
Samukonga is however hopeful of a quick comeback after the unfortunate setback at the race in Poland where he faced stiff competition from the United States trio of Deadmon Bryce, Norwood Vernon and Willie Ryan.
“The sun will rise and the eagle will fly again,” said Muzala in a post which was accompanied with crying imojis.
Muzala had hinted in a post before the race that he was still recovering from injury which also had his Southern African rivals, Wayde van Niekerk and Ndori Bayapo from Botswana and Brazils Dos Santos Alison.
“Today, I make my second appearance at the Diamond League, this comes after I won the Golden Spike trophy in Czech Republic and coming out second behind the world recorder holder in Norway at the Diamond League,” he said.
“In as much as I’m still recovering from the previous races’ injuries, today I return to the track and I pray the almighty sees me through as I step on the track,” Samukonga said before the race.
