CHILUBI Member of Parliament, Mulenga Fube has urged President Hakainde Hichilema to recall Third Secretary for Press at the Zambian Mission in Brazil, Chellah Tukuta and to dismiss Ministry of Information and Media Director Spokesperson, Thabo Kawana for engaging in politics.
Mr. Fube said Mr Tukuta should be recalled from Foreign Service on the basis of participating in active politics when he is a civil servant who should be non-partisan.

“Having cadres that have a partisan mind and a partisan look at life is destroying institutions of governance. I think UPND has gone too far in terms of destroying institutions of governance apart from chasing experiences civil servants out of the offices and which deletes the institutional memory of Government, they have put in place people that are inexperienced, people who do not understand procedure.
“They have employed people who do not understand the code of ethics for civil servants. Chella Tukuta and my own brother and friend Thabo Kawana are good examples because they are always speaking on politics,” Mr Fube said.
He stated that diplomatic practice required that the interests of Zambians regardless of political affiliation should come first and Mr Tukuta has proved unfit for diplomatic service by openly engaging in politics.
Mr Fube added that the behavior of both Mr Tukuta and Mr Kawana should not be condoned.
He said President Hichilema’s appointment of such individuals was an embarrassment to the country.
