FORMER Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama has appealed to retirees to utilise the NAPSA 20 percent partial payments and plan for their families.
He said individuals receiving their money must seriously plan and invest as a way of adding value to society.
Mr Kanyama said that this could be through setting up profitable business ventures that will generate more income as employing three or four people will as well make a difference to unemployed youths.
He has also commended the new dawn administration and Zambian lawmakers for amending the NAPSA bill which is now law. Mr Kanyama said many Zambian retirees died as they could not be able to access their NAPSA money due to the claim age limit of 55 when the Zambian’s life span has reduced to 45 years.
He appealed to administrators of those individuals that have died and never had access to NAPSA payments to equally plan for the deceased’s family members.
Mr Kanyama is confident that those receiving money will put it to good use and advised the beneficiaries to always know that it’s the last money which must not be used on beer and abandoning their families that stood with them during the time they served in government and other institutions.
