THE New Dawn Government has so far failed to fix the economy as promised in the campaign promises before the 2021 presidential and general elections, Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament (MP), Stephen Kampyongo has said.
Mr Kampyongo told Millennium Radio in an interview that people had a lot of expectations from the UPND.

He explained that a lot needed to be done to set the country back on the path to economic recovery.
The Shiwangandu lawmaker observed that even the visit to Zambia by United States (US) Vice-President, Kamala Harris had not helped the economy of Zambia.
He said the economy would not improve as long as the challenges facing the mining sector remain unresolved.
Mr Kampyongo recalled how President Hakainde Hichilema in opposition condemned President Edgar Lungu on international trips when he is now doing the same thing while the country was in an economic crisis.
He said during the PF regime, there was never a time when people fought over mealie-meal.
He lamented that it was pointless to blame the previous government over the hardships that Zambians were facing.
“The UPND said they would fix the mistakes by the PF let them do that, they cannot continue blaming the PF. “The minister of agriculture is busy bragging about exporting mealie-meal when in Chipata where he comes from people are lining up for mealie-meal, you cannot export when you do not have enough in stock,” Mr Kampyongo said.
