THE Zambian Youth Think Tank is confident that the re-opening of the Mining Cadaster will give chance to small-scale and artisanal miners chance to have mining licences.
The Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development recently announced the opening of the Mine Cadaster which had previously been suspended due to Mine audits that were recently conducted.
And Zambian Youth Think Tank executive Director Tebulu Mumba is confident that its re-opening will provide opportunities to young people to use the exploration licences as a bargaining tool for job creation.
Mr Mumba has expressed hope that more Zambians will be involved in mine explorations because the government has deliberately given an allocation to small-scale miners and artisanal miners to be at the centre of mining.
And Mr Mumba has appealed to young people not to sell the licences but instead use them as bargaining power for joint ventures with investors to raise their living standards.
