THE new dawn administration must do something urgently about the hunger situation in the country as people are suffering, Patriotic Front presidential hopeful, Chishimba Kambwili, has said.
Mr Kambwili said in an interview that Zambia is in trouble under the United Party for National Development (UPND).
He said the country was in trouble as the economy was bad and most people were failing to even have a meal contrary to what the UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema has promised Zambians.
He said President Hichilema should pay particular attention to the people who were suffering especially in rural areas where they are barely managing to survive because things were expensive beyond measure.
“Abantu balelila insala, (people are crying because of hunger and something has to be done particularly about the cost of living. People have even stopped using public transport because it has become expensive.
“People nowadays, especially marketeers, have resorted to walking to places where they order their merchandise such as vegetables and they have to wake up as early as 04 hours. Life has become unbearable under the new dawn and we now have the new dawn of hunger and poverty,” Mr Kambwili said.
Mr Kambwili, a PF member of the central committee also said it was good for the party to have a substantive president so that decisions were substantively made.
