THE matter in which the Economic Front Party member has sought judicial review to compel ZICTA and the Police to release the findings of their investigations over the pornographic video alleged involving Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) director general Mary Chirwa has finally been allocate to a Judge and is scheduled to up today in the High Court.
High Court Judge-in Charge Gertrude Chawatama is expected to preside over the matter.
Mr Mwelwa Samuel Chilufya of the Economic Front Party seeking an order of mandamus in the High Court demanding that ZICTA Director General and Zambia Police Inspector General release the findings of the investigation into the pornographic video.
Mr Chilufya submitted that on July 26, 2022, Whatsapp groups and several social media platforms were awash with pornographic videos showing a woman who was fondling her private parts and exposing her nudity.
He has told the court that on July 27, 2022, the Police Service through its spokesperson Ray Hamoonga issued a statement over the video in which he informed the nation that the police were investigating the matter to ascertain the people behind the production and circulation of the video.
Mr Chilufya has submitted that according to the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act of 2021, the circulation of said video was a criminal offence and that those who were involved should be found and dealt with by the law.
