THERE is need for collaboration between the church and the government if the country is to prosper in all aspects, President Hakainde Hichilema, has said.
Speaking when he attended a church service at Kabushi Seventh Day Adventist Congregation in Kabushi Constituency yesterday, Mr Hichilema said there is need for the government and the church to work together for the betterment of the lives of the people of Zambia.
Mr Hichilema said government understands and respects the important role that the church plays in the governing system of Zambia.
The head of state said the government will continue striving to work closely with the church to seek guidance in the betterment of the lives of the people.
He said the government and the church should not compete but work together and make life easy for the people of Zambia.
And Mr Hichilema said the UPND government understands the challenges that the people of Kabushi are facing and promised them better conditions in no time.
The President said government with other stakeholders and partners such as the church are working tirelessly in order to better the lives of the people of Kabushi and the nation at large.
