In an interview, Mr Mwamba said he has decided to stay away from active politics at the moment for personal reasons.
Asked if it was true that he has retired from active politics, Mr Mwamba, who was reluctant to comment further said, “I will inform the nation when it becomes necessary.”
Since the PF electoral defeat on August 12, 2021, Mr Mwamba has been not only quiet but elusive from the public and media platforms.
This has raised a lot of speculations among Zambians with some insinuating that he was planning to ditch the former ruling party.
He recently, however told his supporters not be worried that he was quiet after the party lost the August 12, 2021 Presidential elections because he was reflecting and strategising for 2026 general elections.
Mr Mwamba said speculations that he was planning to ditch PF were false as he was a confident and proud member of the former ruling party.
He said as chairperson for PF mobilisation, he was making plans together with the party leadership to ensure that the party bounces back to power in 2026.
