Dear Editor,
IN the near future let ministers be technocrats voted from outside parliament after applying to take up the ministerial roles and MPs must just concentrate on politicking and speaking for their people.
Appointing MPs to double as ministers is resulting into MP vanishing from their constituencies in pretext of being busy with ministerial jobs hence most constituencies getting under developed.
Let politics be left to MPs and ministerial jobs be for technocrats and qualified individuals in their respectable fields.
In the past, we’ve had ministries run by politicians who had parallel qualifications to their ministries.
For esample, how do you give the agricultural ministry to someone who has never done agricultural studies, doesn’t even have a back yard garden and you expect miracles?
THOMAS SIPALO.
