PROMINENT Zambian music promoter, Bwalya Kalandanya, who supported the Patriotic Front (PF) in the August 12 elections, was raided by a joint team of investigative wings.
Mr Kalandanya of Kalandanya Music Promotions was vocal in the PF campaigns as his horde of musicians comprising the likes of Dandy Crazy, Slap Dee, Macky 2 and Richy Bizzy to name but a few threw their weight behind the PF which however failed to bounce back after the last August 12 tripartite elections.
The joint team moved in at Kalandanya’s property in Roma Park around 13:00 hours and concluded their search around 16:00 hours.
And in an interview, investigative wings spokesperson Rae Haamonga said that the raid was a routine search that is being conducted by the investigative wings.
Mr Haamonga said there was nothing sinister about the search on the music mogul as it was a normal routine by the joint team.
“I can confirm that we conducted a search at Mr Bwalya Kalandanya’s house in Roma Park around 13 and we only concluded after 16,” he said.
Mr Haamonga declined to indicate what they were looking for but said that the search was routine.
The investigative wings have continued conducting searches on properties belonging to former ministers and those affiliated to the former ruling party.
A number of high calibre individuals including Mr Alexander Chikwanda, Ronald Chitotela, Kebby Mbewe, Amos Chanda and the most recent one former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo, have all been visited by the Anti-Corruption Commission and questioned.
