Kansanshi unveil Were, Basile as Mwila join Power Dynamos

SOLWEZI-BASED MTN/FAZ Super League outfit Kansanshi Dynamos have finally unveiled Kenyan international striker Jesse Were as a Mabanga Boys.
Kansanshi Dynamos con- firmed in a statement that Were has joined the Solwezi outfit after signing a two-year deal which will keep him at Independnece Stadium up to January 2024.
“We are pleased to an- nounce our latest addition to our squad, Jackson Jesse Were. The Kenyan Hitman has joined us on a two year con- tract after leaving Zesco Unit- ed FC,” the club said.
Were helped the Ndola gi- ants to win four Super League titles, two Absa Cup cham- pionships, and two Charity
Shield honours, after spend- ing five-years with the nine- time Super League champi- ons.
Were joined Zesco United in 2016 and went on to grab the legendary status after he scored 108 goals for the Ndola giants.
The 32-year-old tall, dark, lanky striker who has been a threat to defenders in the do- mestic league begins his new life at Kansanshi Dynamos who are scheduled to take on Zanaco FC in a Super League fixture at Sunset Stadium to- morrow.
Were’s move to Solwezi will see him linking up with for- mer team mate Bruce Mu- sakanya, striker Davy Daka and defender Shadreck Banda who is rumoured to have at- tracted interest from Nkana FC.
Kansanshi Dynamos have also signed former Zanaco FC striker Baba Basile on an 18-month-long contract.
The Cameroonian who also played for Maestro United and Lusaka Dynamos becomes the second player to join the Mabanga Boys after Were.
Meanwhile, Power Dyna- mos have unveiled Chipol- opolo striker Brian Mwila as their new acquisition.
Mwila joins Power Dyna- mos after agreeing a two year deal from Buildcon FC.
And Green Buffaloes are re- ported to be leading the chase for Green Eagles player Gozon Mutale’s signature.
