IT was not an absurdity after all.
It was a clinical, professional but cynical ploy to stop the Kabwata parliamentary by-election.
Mr Francis Libanda, the candidate for the United Progressive People’s Party who withdrew stood no chance in this by-election and hence the suspicion expressed by the Socialist Party of machinations by the ruling UPND.
Zambians will be watching to see if the UPND will be changing its candidate and also if the Patriotic Front candidate will not be conveniently side railed by some “nefarious” State proceedings.
