MINES and Minerals Development Minister Paul Kabuswe has bemoaned that some Zambian suppliers and contractors deliver substandard jobs which affects the productivity of the mines.
Mr Kabuswe said the cry of many big mining firms is that Zambians give sub-standard jobs even after being paid, which therefore calls on all to raise the bar on issues of integrity and corporate governance among others.
Mr Kabuswe also said thriving mining companies under the new dawn administration will be opened up across the country hence, Zambians must prepare to participate in the mining supply value chain.
He said without quality delivery in contracts awarded to Zambians, the mining sector suffers and this also impacts on the country’s economy.
