Ignore detractors, Chitimukulu advises Govt

THE government should focus on implementing its manifesto and ignore negative sentiments because people will always talk, Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people has said.
And Paramount Chief Chitimukulu has pledged to work with the new administration to foster development.
He said this when Youth, Sport and Arts Minister Elvis Nkandu and his Fisheries and Livestock counterpart Makozo Chikote paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Kasama.
The Mwine Lubemba urged Government to accept constructive criticism and ignore the negative ones as they work toward improving the living standard of the people.
He said he has taken time to read the UPND manifesto which he had found to be providing hope for Zambians.
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu urged the government to quickly actualise its manifesto and pledged to work with them to steer economic development.
He also asked Government to closely monitor all the young people who benefitted from various empowerment programmes.
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu said it was unfortunate thatGgovernment spends huge sums of money to empower the youth who in turn used the resources for illicit activities.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nkandu said the government would not allow the use of traditional leaders in the political scene because they deserve respect.
Mr Nkandu appealed to the traditional leaders to be non-partisan as all politicians were their children
And Mr. Chikote said his ministry was targeting the young people to incorporate them into livestock rearing to promote entrepreneurship.
