Mr. Lusambo said that the reason people of Chilenje were flashing other political party symbols when the UPND cadres were passing was a sign of rejection because people do not want liars anymore.
He said that it was unfortunate that the cadres decided to beat up the residents who were showing disapproval.
Yesterday, UPND cadres beat up some residents of Chilenje and looted some shops in the area after some of the people there were showing signs of disapproval by flashing other political party symbols.
One of the residents narrated that UPND cadres went to the area with buses and started beating up people, breaking into shops and looted some properties.
And Mr. Lusambo said that the behaviour of the cadres should be condemned because the property they broke into was private and they had no right to do so.
He said that people have a right to support political parties of their choice and it was a violation of their human rights to victimise them like that.
Mr. Lusambo said surprising this was in full view of the police.
“Why is the government tolerating this kind of lawlessness,” Mr. Lusambo said.
He said that UPND was just reaping the fruits of their deception because it was impossible to fool the people for a long time.
Mr. Lusambo said Zambians had come to know the UPND for who they were and that was the reason they were rejecting them.
He said that President Hakainde Hichilema had read the writing on the wall that was the reason he said he was not in State House to seek re-election.
Mr. Lusambo said that the people were angry with the UPND government because they were doing the opposite of what they promised.
