DESPITE political persecution that our senior party officials are going through, victory for PF in the Kabwata by election is certain as I will actively take the campaign personal, PF vice president Given Lubinda has said.
Mr Lubinda expressed confidence of his party scooping the Kabwata parliamentary seat bye -election slated for next month because the former ruling party is still popular.
He said in an interview that he would actively involve himself in the campaigns to ensure no stone was left unturned, unlike during the general elections when he was busy across the country on Presidential campaigns.
He said the arrests of senior PF officials would not derail the opposition party from campaigning and ensuring victory was delivered.
Mr Lubinda who served as Kabwata MP for four consecutive terms, said it pained him that the seat which is so special to him was lost in the last general elections, but promised this time around, it will be a different story.
“I can assure you, victory is certain for the PF in the Kabwata Constituency by election,” he said.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set January 20, 2022 as the date on which to hold the Kabwata Constituency Parliamentary by election in Lusaka District.
Nominations for the said by elections according to a statement by ECZ public relations manager Patricia Luhanga would be on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
The election in Kabwata Constituency has been follows the death of UPND Member of Parliament, Levy Mkandawire on November 18, 2021.
