POLICE have been warned not to align themselves with the ruling party in the dispensing of their duty.
Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) president David Masupa said it was unprofessional for Zambia police service to align itself with the ruling party.
Bishop Masupa said it was unfortunate that the Police was not being professional by aligning itself with any ruling party by not arresting individuals who committed crime during a particular regime. He said there was need for the Police to arrest people during the time when crimes are committed and not arresting people for crimes that occurred five years back.
Bishop Masupa said the church had seen many arrests taking place with most of them dating back from five years ago. He alleged that recent arrests for offences that were allegedly committed five years ago were a sign of unprofessionalism by the police service.
