President Hichilema mourns a 103 year World War II hero Bwalya Musonko
President Hichilema writes …
We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of World War II veteran, Bwalya Musonko who peacefully passed on yesterday.
Zambia is blessed to have had such a gallant warrior who bravely fought in foreign lands in defence of freedom and liberty for the entire world. A man of extraordinary strength who lived to be 103 years is a profound example of Zambia’s finest, worthy to be honoured and emulated by our citizens, especially our young people.
Indeed a bright light has been extinguished in our country but the example of his heroism forever illuminates our hearts and our nation.
We owe him a great debt of gratitude for his bravery and fortitude. May His Soul Rest In Peace.
Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic of Zambia
