MANDEVU Member of Parliament Christopher Shakafuswa has relaunched the Covid-19 vaccination programme with an emphasis on carrying out more sensitization among the community members. This follows the last month’s launch of the vaccination by President Hakainde Hichilema where he urged Zambians to take responsibility in fighting the pandemic through getting vaccinated.
Addressing Mandevu residents on Wednesday, Mr Shakafuswa noted that it will be devastating during the fourth wave if more people are not vaccinated. The parliamentarian has reminded the residents that Covid-19 is real and everyone should make an effort to get vaccinated.
He also directed all councilors to be proactive to ensure that all shallow wells including the pit latrines are buried to prevent the outbreak of water bone diseases such as cholera.
Mr Shakafuswa said that all councilors should ensure that their respective wards are kept clean. And speaking earlier, Councillor of Raphael Chota ward 25 Boniface Bwalya pledged the commitment of going flat out to ensure that residents are sensitized on the importance of hygiene.
