GOVERNMENT should build more schools to accommodate more learners as the demand for school places will swell given the free education policy pronouncements, the Zambian DNA has said.
The DNA called on parents and guardians to take advantage of the free education policy pronouncement by sending their children to school.
DNA spokesperson, Spuki Mulemwa said the new dawn administration’s free education policy was timely as it would not have come at a better time than now when Zambians were grappling with not only high cost of living, but were also unable to send their children to school.
“It’s also worth noting that many Zambians have welcomed the idea as this will enable many parents to send their children to school, especially those in rural areas who have no steady source of income.
“More so, the abolished school fees will help parents/guardians utilise the money saved that would have been used to pay school fees to other needy areas,” said Mr Mulemwa.
He said Zambians should recall how they benefitted from the UNIP government’s free education policy, and that of PF administration’s reduced school fees that enabled many parents send their children to school.
