UPND cadres in Dundumwezi have attacked a Patriotic Front (PF) provincial campaign team campaigning in the area.
PF Provincial Youth Chairman Obby Mweemba was among those that were injured in the attack.
Southern Province Provincial Chairman Lawrence Evans has confirmed the development to the Daily Nation in Choma.
Mr Evans has condemned the act of violence which the UPND cadres in Southern Province particularly in Dundumwezi has taken up.
In the latest incident of violence the UPND systematically carried out in Southern Province has targeted Provincial Campaign Teams led by Provincial Vice Chairman Leonard Siachona who have been attacked whilst on a door to door campaign program in Dundumwezi area,” he said
Other members in the Campaign team were Trymore Mwenda, Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary, Scholastic Mbao Provincial vice chairlady, Elina Daka Provincial Women Vice Secretary and Julia Chindima Provincial Women Vice Information and Publicity Secretary.
He explained that the UPND cadres attacked the PF officials when they got to Sichimbwali Primary School football ground near Chief Chikanta’s palace in Dundumwezi Constituency.
