ZAMBIANS can’t trust NDC and UPND because their foundation was necessitated by frustration and jealousy, New Congress Party President Peter Chanda has charged
And Mr Chanda revealed that there is a cartel with disgruntled elements trying to grab power from President Lungu through the back door.
Speaking at a press briefing at Chrisma hotel in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Chanda said both UPND and NDC were formed to fulfil selfish interest of individual leaders.
He explained that NDC, for instance, could not have been formed if its messiah Chishimba Kambwili was not fired from government by President Lungu.
“It is clear that NDC was founded out of frustration after its leaders were ejected from the government and the ruling party. Surely can Zambians trust such a political party (NDC)? asked Mr Chanda as his supporters responded in negative.
He also charged that neither UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema, nor Mr Kambwili would rule the country as long as they continued disregarding those in authority.
“It is unlikely that the people of Zambia would vote for people who have no respect for President Lungu who was elected by the majority,” he said.
And Mr Chanda said there was a cartel with criminal elements that was trying to grab power from President Lungu through the back door.
He said the cartel which he said was well funded had been making attempts to incite the people of Zambia to rise against President Lungu and his administration. Mr Chanda further said he did not campaign for President Edgar Lungu and Patriotic Front (PF) to get a government job but it was solely in the best interest of Zambians.
“I promised the people of Zambia that President Lungu was the only leader who could address their challenges. And he is doing it exactly that. He is committed to improving the road network and health care services,” said Mr Chanda.
