THE proclamations of a wind of change in Zambia’s political landscape are only in the minds of radical detractors, says Zambia Republican Party president Wright Musoma.
Mr Musoma said the wind of change was only in the minds of political detractors and that Zambians should not be swayed into believing such politi-cians with selfish motives.
He said the government was doing everything possible to better the lives of citizens and that could be seen in the unprecedented infrastructure development such as the construction of universi-ties and health posts in all the provinces.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Musoma said the opposition parties had run out of ideas and had resorted to underhand methods and using unorthodox kind of politics to the extent of even engaging clergymen to tarnish the government’s image. “The talk of the wind of change is only in the minds of political detractors. The government is rolling out unprecedented infrastructure development in the construction of universities and health posts in all the provinces,” he said.
And Mr Musoma said he doubted media reports quoting Nigerian renowned prophet T.B Joshua saying President Edgar Lungu should not stand in the 2021 elections as he would lose the elections. He said such talk was the work of the opposition parties and that it only went to show how desper-ate they had become but affirmed that President Lungu would win the 2021 elections.
Mr Musoma said the parties were scheming of ways which would see President Lungu not to contest the elections for fear of his (Lungu’s) political stamina.
UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema said the wind of change was blowing in Southern Africa and other parts of the continent as people were using their power to remove leaders.
During the card renewal exercise in Eastern Province at Chipata’s Mpezeni Park Square last Saturday, Mr Hichilema, said Zambians should reclaim their country.
