Pride comes before a fall
Editor,
To all those who do not submit to the governing authority and are doing wrong, you need to be afraid. More especially those engaged in subversive arrangements like preferring to go in the bush than mobilizing in their wards. They risk the wrath of those in power for they have been placed there by God. Please adhere to the bible, “human pride will be brought down and human arrogance will be humbled.”
Shortly, the arrogant will lower their eyes in humiliation. The Lord behind ECL shall scatter the proud and haughty ones. It is because of ECL’s humbleness that the Lord has exalted him. Pride will bring them down.

Arising rivalry between the pf and upnd is alarming
Editor,
The rivalry between the PF and UPND is alarming. This is not good and has the potential to destroy our country. Why should people go around destroying properties just so that they can prove that they are not happy? Don’t they understand that the property they destroy is meant for them to use and not the political leaders? It is very saddening to note we have gone from being a united country to being divided. Let us learn to look beyond our political affiliations in order for us to progress.

Urinating in public places a nuisance Editor,
I would like to urge all those in authority to please take this seriously and consider placing stringent measures to curb this disgusting vice that has continued to grow in our country. Don’t people realize how unhealthy and inappropriate urinating in public places is? It seems people in our country are very ignorant of such things and need to be taught the hard way. It is very shameful to walk past a public area with children only to see someone helping themselves on a tree, and men are usually the culprits. What sort of behavior do we expect our children to grow up with if such things are left unchecked?

Lack of street lights in phi
Editor,
I thank you for the opportunity to write in your paper. Please allow me to air my disappointment at ZESCO for not putting street lights in our area, PHI, up to now. When you take a look around the whole residential area, you will notice that there is not one street light available and this is very sad considering PHI has been in existence since the Chiluba era. It is not safe to move around at night for fear of being attacked and not being able to even see who is attacking you. This is the reason why the gang famously known as the ‘fluffies’ have continued to steal from our homes and have instilled fear in us. What is worse is knowing that most of PHI residents are police officers. This makes one wonder what they are doing in their homes whilst others are being attacked.

Morals are eroded
Editor,
I would like to highlight my concern over the rate at which our morals in this country are being eroded. It seems like we have lost our culture and are now westernizing everything. There is no respect of the old by the young, there is no adherence to principalities and certainly a lack of decency in the dress codes now being copied from the western countries. What is happening to Zambia? Can we please go back to the beginning and try to correct this before it gets out of hand.

Girl child at the verge of losing her place at dovecoat college
Editor,
The story of the 26year old orphaned girl child at the verge of losing her place at a College made sad watching in a country with rich men of God, Minister of Religious Affairs, other Ministries and MP’s in leadership of this Christian nation. There are also women in business and well-paying jobs who can give her unconditional help. To you, I refer to James 1: 27 which says “what God the father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this, to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world.”
