Utterances by Madam Mutale Nalumango abhorent
Editor,
Utterances by Madam Mutale Nalumango on TV goes to tell the story about the typical moral character of the UPND. The anger in the voice and eyes of our mother sent shivers down our spines and confirmed why the UPND cannot condemn the wrongs being committed by their cadres. We thought she would urge her cadres to tone down and let the law take its own course but her ranting shocked us all because we expected our mother to unite the two parties and support the seventh national development plan. Her words however were centered on contempt of court because she became the judge in a sensitive case currently in the courts of Law.

Is LWSC serious?
Editor,
I would like to make an honest concern in your paper. Is the LWSC serious in its operations? The answer is simple. No, they are not! They have not unblocked the sewerage pipe in our area for a long time now and water has been spilling on the road to Mandevu big market.

Directed to youths
Editor,
I would like to encourage my fellow youths out there to venture into things that are progressive and constructive. It is alarming to realize the level at which most of us youths are ignorant about developmental issues and yet we spend our time complaining that the Government has not provided us with jobs. We better stand up and start making an effort rather than sitting and whining all the time. Let us help Government help us.

Jobs in the government
Editor,
Why is it that in most of the Government institutes in Zambia, the majority of people are very old and can hardly work? When will some of us young people be accorded an opportunity to work in these places? Mostly when applying for a job, you are made to go through cumbersome procedures after which you are not even picked. For you to get a job, you have to have a relative or must bribe someone. For how long will this go on? Can those in leadership seriously look into this matter before we end up being beggars due to unemployment?

A request to the government
Editor,
I am requesting those in leadership to please consider the plight of the needy in our society. It is so sad to see people starving and begging for alms when the Government is there. Why doesn’t this Government consider providing recreational facilities and short courses for people who want to sustain their lives but don’t have the means to? Once these people are empowered, they will not go back to begging or stealing from people to sustain themselves.

Fine those who pee and throw garbage in our streets
Editor,
The rate at which people throw garbage and pee on road sides in Zambia is alarming. What is so sad is that this behaviour is actually considered normal. In other countries, you can be fined for doing either of the two. That is the reason why our environment looks so dirty and smells bad. Can those in authority please consider setting up stringent laws to curb this vice before we start living in a dumpsite!

Uncollected garbage chokes Lusaka
Editor,
The mountains of uncollected garbage, especially in market places is a matter of great concern. Even where residents pay towards garbage collection, the pace is rather slow resulting in uncollected garbage accumulating to frightening levels. This is not ideal waste management.

Loud music in mini buses
Editor,
The loud music from nearly all mini buses should be quickly checked by those concerned. I was forced to get off one such mini bus because the crew could not listen to passengers appeals to reduce the volume. If RTSA can be serious about this, the culprits can be easily brought to book because one can hear their music kilometres away. Of course they are oblivious of the harm that their music can do both to the old and young. What they play is not music but noise which is pollution.
