Club Amnesia ‘reunites’ Runell, ChrisBryan
By Terence Miselo
| Lusaka’s Club Amnesia in Chamba Valley last Saturday reunited veteran musician Runell of the Panadol fame with his long-time protégé Bryan now calling himself ChrisBryan after the two had stayed for years without sharing the stage owing to suspected music differences. |
This union came when Runell was courted as the main act for a performance at the Club that is setting trends in music by bringing up pioneers of modern Zambian beats.
Runell turned up at the show clad in a Chipolopolo replica jersey and was proud to introduce ChrisBryan as one of his supporting acts and part of his team. This was all to the excitement of the audience that never anticipated that the two could share the stage after their association and friendship was rumored to have turned sour over the years due to alleged career differences.
The two artistes seemed not to live by the rumours but put up a dedicated performance that they have been known for since the time Runell introduced Bryan on the music scene. The reunion seemed to have worked perfectly well as they enjoyed the dances to their music most of which was produced under Runell’s Showdown Studios.
Spectators were very happy to see this pair together which later moved to Gambino West Pub on the same night to offer support to Macky2.
And Runell’s performance at Amnesia was received with great admiration by the patrons. His dancers were very entertaining and his music was enough to give revelers a serious ‘amnesia’.
