A TEACHER of Kabwe has denied forging pay slips he used to obtain a K50, 800 loan from Oryx Finance Company.
Before Magistrate Albert Mwaba was Obert Sabwizu, 37, a teacher of Kasanda Mine Township who is facing two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering false documents, and one count of obtaining credit by false pretences.
Particulars in count one were that between May and August 2015, Sabwizu, in Lusaka jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown and with intent to defraud or deceive, forged a GRZ PEMEC pay slip dated 31st May, 2015 by purporting to show that it was genuinely issued by PEMEC when not.
In the second count it was alleged that between May and August 2015, Sabwizu knowingly and fraudulently uttered the forged pay slip to Robert Kabamba, a loans officer at Oryx Finance Company.
The third count alleged that Sabwizu forged another GRZ PEMEC pay slip dated 31st July 2015 by purporting to show that it was genuinely issued by PEMEC when not.
Sabwizu is in the fourth count accused of uttering the forged pay slip to Mr. Kabamba for purposes of obtaining a loan.
In count five, it was alleged that Sabwizu, with intent to defraud, obtained or incurred a credit which he made himself liable for amounting to K50, 800 cash from Oryx Finance Company and deferred to pay the said amount.
Trial starts on June 5, 2017 and Sabwizu was remanded in custody until he met bail conditions.
