Kalaba being hypocritical
Editor,
I refer to your story titled ‘I won’t be forced to resign’ by our former foreign affairs minister Harry Kalaba. To you Kalaba you spoke like you left government 34 years ago, and whatever went wrong you never participated in it. For me Kalaba you are greedy with your ideas and knowledge you learnt from other countries to share with Zambians, only when you form government that’s when you will start implementing.

Editor,
Our Road Development Agency should also provide attainable road signs. The case of the Shimabala speed limits leaves much to be desired.

ZNBC and its problems
Editor,
ZNBC’s failure to pay its employees does not come as a surprise. First, it is a well-known fact that the institution has over employed. Secondly, there is poor news balancing on its channels. One has to listen to 19:00 hrs news bulletin to prove my point. As a result of this many companies fail to give them adverts because they know that ZNBC has few viewers therefore they are unable to make money which can be used to pay its workers.

Unproductive cabinet ministers
Editor,
Most ministers have failed to run their ministries. They need to go and be replaced by new ones. There is no progress in the nation as results of failed ministers.

E-voucher system stays
Editor,
The E-voucher system can work well if only the system is made in a manner where money enters directly into a farmer’s bank account. The bank should not have a part because money should just pass through it at a very high speed so that the bank does not delay the release of the money. Then comparatively just be a mere optional swipe machine, when a farmer wants to buy or withdraw cash. Just have a look at how salaries are quick now, because GVT institutions and banks are not given opportunities to make unnecessary delays, money is quickly deposited into GVT staffs’ accounts.

Quality education needed
Editor,
For Zambia to have quality education, the choice of a local language acceptable to learners based on common sense is needed. It can be a mother tongue or any other local language that is near to the mother tongue. On that basis, Nyanja can serve as medium of instruction for learners from different local languages. Similarly, Bemba can serve as a medium of instruction in its capacity as a mother tongue or a language near to the mother tongue.

Maintain soldiers on Lusaka’s streets
Editor
The military should not be withdrawn from the streets until civilians learn to be clean and not bring the village mentality in towns.

Probe Kasempa DEBS
Editor
We appeal to government to investigate Kasempa DEBS office for nepotism and using public funds meant for orphaned and vulnerable children in schools as personal allowances. In 2015, this office employed only relatives of those at DEBS office without advertising the positions. In 2017 this office which is Lunda-dominated recruited only 3 teachers from Kasempa out of 20 slots given to the district. The rest were recruited from outside districts of Zambezi and Mufumbwe were in-laws were give jobs. This is gross misrepresentation and tarnishing the image of the government. People are angry.
