IT is unfortunate that children are being exposed to behaviour that will forever impact their lives as adults of tomorrow, says Cathedral of Miracles Church Bishop Naison Nyonyo.
Bishop Nyonyo said parents have a great responsibility to guide their children into responsible adults and should do so strictly in line with Christian values.
He said as a Christian Nation, Zambia should not entertain such stories as what happened in Woodlands involving 70 children found at a sex party.
Bishop Nyonyo said that while it was necessary to give children some form of freedom, it was every parent’s duty to ensure their children were involved in positive activities that built their character into responsible men and women of society.
“It is an abomination that a country like ours should even have such activities going on involving young children, so explicitly.
“Every parent must stand up and condemn this in the strongest terms and that as parents we must be extra conscious of activities in which our children are involved,” Bishop Nyonyo said.
He said God has been very kind to Zambia and the Church must take up its position on this matter in guiding the congregants on the way of life of a Christian nation.
He explained that the church had a serious duty of teaching people on the standards of living and counsel the young people on the sanctity of sex in human life.
Bishop Nyonyo said the people of Zambia, including young people must realise that God has favoured this country and all the people must be grateful and show gratitude to God through the kind of lifestyle lived.
“A sex party surly? Competition? No! Zambians should surely stand up and condemn this.
“Every Zambia. every parent, every leader in the church should stand up and firmly reject this lifestyle that condemns our children to animal kind of lifestyle,” Bishop Nyonyo said.
He has since appealed to all churches to put up programmes that provide for children’s activities, especially teenagers who were targets in such activities.
Bishop Nyonyo has since called for the immediate arrest of organisers and hosts of such functions which dent the image of Zambia as a Christian nation
