…STOP BEING ARROGANT AND TURN TO GOD
By Prince Chibawah and Bennie Mundando
STOP being arrogant, repent and turn to God for forgiveness for all the wrong things you did prior to incarceration, United Party for National Development (UPND) leader, Hakainde Hichilema has been advised.
And former UPND special assistant to the president for special duties, Edward Mumbi says Mr Hichilema should show remorse for his actions which landed him into problems or risk being taken back to Mukobeko because his discharge was not absolute.
Reverend Bernard Chiwele advised the UPND leader to distance himself from wrong politicians if he wanted to rule Zambia.
Rev Chiwele, who is Rainbow Party Luapula Province chairman, said the insults that Mr Hichilema had hurled at innocent people especially those in Government had left a spell on him.
He also counselled Mr Hichilema to take time before resuming his political journey
“Now that Comrade Hichilema is out of detention, let him first humble himself before the people of Zambia and apologize to those he wronged before he was incarcerated. He should then repent and turn to God, so that his sins can be wiped out.
“Looking at the number of days he spent in detention, we hope our brother has learnt something and is willing to adjust himself.
He should seek wisdom from God before he could think of becoming the president of our peaceful country. He has to reflect on his past mistakes because politics is a sophisticated game,” Rev. Chiwele said.
He also said it would be hard for Mr Hichilema to rule because he was surrounded by wrong politicians.
He needs to part ways with most of the politicians he is working with and restructure the UPND,” said Rev Chiwele.
Meanwhile, Mr Mumbi said while excitement was high in the UPND camp following the nolle prosequi, Mr. Hichilema’s handlers should tread cautiously on the political platform henceforth as his incarceration may be activated at any time if he proved to be a political nuisance.
He said insisting on establishing an “innocent” tag for Mr. Hichilema and the UPND showed lack of leadership in the party which came with huge consequences, including their leader being re-arrested if he did not behave himself.
