SUPER League side Nchanga Rangers Football Club has been sued in the Lusaka High Court over their failure to pay K56, 463. 00 accommodation fee and breach of contract.
In a statement of claims filed in the Lusaka High Court principal registry, Prince Charles Hostels charged that around May, June, August and October, 2016, the company entered into a contract for the provision of lodging facilities and food to the defendant.
The plaintiff charged that the football club constantly made excused to avoid payment of the money owed to the service company and that several attempts had been made to recover the money.
“Several attempts have been made by the plaintiff to try and recover the money from the defendant, who has consistently made excuses as to nonpayment
The defendant, despite several demands, reminders and requests, has failed, neglected and refused to settle the said amount owed,” the company submitted.
The plaintiff indicated that by reason of the defendant’s resistance to settle the amount owned and by reason of the premises, the company suffered financial loss and had been inconvenienced by the actions of the defendant.
Now the plaintiff claims for an order for the immediate payment of K56, 463.00 to the service company for the services and food rendered to the football club.
The service company submitted that it was only fair that the defendant paid damages for loss of use of funds, damages for breach of contract, costs and incidental to the proceeding and any other reliefs that the court may deem fit.
“By reason of matters foresaid, the plaintiff now claims for an order for the immediate payment of the sum of K56, 463.00 to the plaintiff for services rendered to the defendant and any other relief that the court may deem fit,” the document read.
