THE Rainbow Party has become a two-man political party because its leader, Wynter Kabimba and his friend, Robert Chikwelete, are running the affairs of the party like a personal entity, claims former Rainbow Party Eastern Province information publicity secretary Paul Phiri.
And Mr Phiri, who has resigned from the party to join the ruling Patriotic Front (PF), charged that the Rainbow Party lacked seriousness.
He alleged that Mr Kabimba and Mr Chikwelete have been selling party regalia to their members as one way of raising funds. He also claimed that the party had no proper plan on how it could serve the people of Zambia in an event that it won elections.
“There is no future for the Rainbow, the party lacks seriousness and it is not going anywhere. There is no proper coordination among its members,” Mr Phiri said.
He described the PF as a hard working party, hence his decision to join the party.
Mr Phiri commended Government for undertaking massive development in all sectors of the economy.
Meanwhile, Eastern Province PF information and publicity secretary Bright Chihana has welcomed Mr. Phiri’s decision to join the ruling party.
Mr. Chihana said Mr Phiri’s decision to join PF was evidence enough that the ruling party was attracting members because of good leadership.
